METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART PROJECTS

Location: 1000 5th Avenue New York, NY

Key Role: In the landmark building museum project, primary responsibilities focused on specialized preconstruction and construction management to protect cultural assets and ensure operational continuity. This included leading pre-construction with historic preservation-compliant feasibility, budgeting, scheduling, and permitting; driving design development and close coordination with curators, architects, museum personnel, and security to integrate exhibit needs, environmental controls, security protocols, and visitor flow into clash-free, value-engineered plans while respecting landmark restrictions. Contractor buyouts packaged specialized scopes and secured competitive bids from museum-experienced subcontractors to lock in pricing and expertise. Oversight covered logistics for controlled deliveries and access in a live museum setting; scheduling work during museum hours and off-hours to minimize disruption; and implementing rigorous art protection and relocation strategies—including professional handling, temporary enclosures, climate-controlled storage, and phased deinstallation/reinstallation—to safeguard collections throughout construction. This approach delivered the project successfully while prioritizing heritage preservation, public access, and regulatory compliance in a high-stakes cultural environment
